My neighbor's been trying to track down Baker racks for his 2020 Slingshot with pods and hit a wall. Are there other racks that don't force you into a bag bundle or limit how you tie stuff down?

they're good but tough to find these day, heard some things about this twist dynamics racks or so, dunno havent really tried them but I think i saw good reviews, or.... an idea is fabbing something custom if he's handy, just remembered I saw one guy mod a flat ATV-style rack and it actually looked great

I hear your neighbor's pain! Baker racks are cool, but that bag bundle thing is a common gripe. With the pods, options get a bit tighter.

He should definitely check out SlingMods website they carry a ton of aftermarket stuff. Besides Baker, they sometimes have other brands or less common designs that might offer more open tie-down points. Look specifically for "luggage racks" or "cargo racks" rather than just "storage."
Many of these are simple bars or platforms intended for generic luggage

I helped a friend with the same problem on his '19 Slingshot last year. He was looking for a rack that wouldn't force him into buying expensive bag bundles. Baker didn't have what he needed, so we decided to check out SlingMods and found a no-name platform-style rack with plenty of open tie-down points. It wasn't the most stylish option, but it really did the job for his camping trips. It took a bit of searching in the "cargo racks" section, but it was definitely worth it.

The search for 'cargo racks' on SlingMods is a huge help and good to know a platform style is an option. For the non-Baker racks, is the installation a simple bolt-on job with the factory pods?

Awesome the search got more specific! For putting them in, keep in mind that most should be easy to put on, but some might need a little adjusting based on your setup. Make sure to look at the install details first before you buy

Appreciate the heads up @slingithard0761! My neighbor isn't big on DIY mods so bolt on is ideal but I'll doublecheck mounting notes before ordering. If some adjusting is needed, how tricky are we talking, like reusing factory holes or trimming plastic around the pods? Hoping we can sort this out before his fall road trip in late September.
