2018 polaris slingshot grand touring

hey everyone, I'm Jake! for my 18th birthday, my grandparents just surprised me with a 2018 Polaris Slingshot Grand Touring. super stoked!

I've never driven a manual before, only automatics. So, I've got a few questions for you experienced folks

Does the Slingshot auto rev match when downshifting, or do I need to learn that myself? If so, how exactly do you rev match, is it just a quick blip of the throttle? it's pretty flat around my city. Any tips for a new manual driver would be awesome!

I'm also thinking about doing some mods for my Slingshot, can anyone recommend the best aftermarket for Slingshot Grand Touring parts & Accessories

Awesome birthday gift!! I bet you're going to have a blast with it! The 2018 Slingshot with the manual transmission doesn't have an automatic rev-match feature so that's something you'll need to learn. A quick blip of the throttle is indeed the core of it. Do it when downshifting to match the engine's RPMs to the lower gear before you release the clutch. It makes shifts smoother and is easier on the drivetrain. Practice being deliberate, and it'll become second nature!! Since your city is flat, you've got the perfect low-pressure environment to master it. For mods, Slingshot has a massive aftermarket. I think you can start with your exhaust, audio systems, accents and lighting!

Thanks for that breakdown! When you first started, did you drill the throttle blip on flat stretches or in parking lots? Which exhaust and audio setup did you choose?

Congrats, but here's the harsh truth, if you can't drive stick, you've got no business in a Slingshot. It's not a toy; learn clutch control first or mods won't matter when you stall everywhere.
