OptiMate charger on used 2020 Slingshot S

I bought a used 2020 Slingshot S and I think the battery has seen better days. I'm thinking if an OptiMate charger can hopefully bring it back and keep it healthy. Does anyone here with the same year model have any experience using an OptiMate? Which model works best for you and has it successfully revived or maintained your older battery? I'm keen to get your insights. Also open to other suggestions. Thanks in advance!

I've been using the Optimate 4 on my '20 S and it's done a commendable job keeping the battery in shape, especially during downtime, it didn't revive a dead battery per se, but it brought back a sluggish one enough to avoid replacement

OptiMate 4 is a popular choice that a lot of guys use for motorcycles and other powersports vehicles, and it's known to be good for both maintenance and trying to recover a weak battery. It has a special save mode that can work on sulfated batteries, which is probably what's going on with yours if it's an older one. If you're looking at a different model, just make sure it's rated for AGM batteries, as that's what the Slingshot uses.

Another popular brand is NOCO. They have some great smart chargers that can handle a bunch of different battery types and have a desulfation mode as well. I've seen a couple of Polaris dealers selling a branded NOCO charger, which tells you they stand by them!!

Whatever you choose, the key is to get a smart charger that won't overcharge the battery and you can leave it connected for extended periods, especially if you don't ride often. Good luck with getting your battery sorted!
